Author Outreach Programming

Overview

Animal Trades offers professional author outreach programming for elementary-aged learners, focused on early literacy, community awareness, and introductory career exploration through storytelling. Programs are led by Steve McKeown, creator of the Animal Trades book series and a Master Electrician, and are designed for schools, school boards, libraries, and community organizations serving students in Kindergarten through Grade 4.

Each program combines interactive author readings with guided discussion and age-appropriate engagement. Sessions can be delivered in classrooms, assemblies, libraries, or as part of multi-session school visits. Students may engage with Animal Trades books, stickers, and interactive materials that reinforce learning through storytelling.
